Orbyt is run by Pion333rs. For anything in this policy — a question, a correction, a deletion — the data controller contact is hello@orbyt.pion333rs.com.
We collect the minimum needed to run Orbyt: the email address you give us when you subscribe to the newsletter, the name, company and optional phone number you give us when you create an account or apply to join, and the details you submit when you list an event (including a contact email that is never shown publicly). Account data is processed because you asked us for the account (contract); newsletter contact rests on your consent; light rate-limiting and error monitoring rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and abuse-free.
When you create an account we ask how you heard about us, and we record the referring page your browser reported when you first arrived, along with any campaign tags on that link. It tells us which of the things we do are worth doing. It is kept on your account, it is never sold or shared, and the browser-side part is held only for the length of that visit unless you go on to create an account. The question is answered by you, in your own words if you like; nothing is inferred about you from it.
We no longer ask for a phone number, and we do not contact anyone by WhatsApp or text. If you gave us a number before we stopped asking, we still hold it and we are not using it for anything. To have it deleted, email hello@orbyt.pion333rs.com and we'll remove it. If we introduce a WhatsApp channel later, we will ask again rather than rely on an old tick.
We don't sell data, we don't run third-party ad trackers, and we only email you what you signed up for. To unsubscribe or have your data removed, email hello@orbyt.pion333rs.com.
Event listings are public by design. If you want an event you created taken down, use your manage link or contact us.
We keep your data only as long as it earns its place: account details for the life of the account, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and RSVPs until the event has passed and the host no longer needs the list. When you ask us to delete something, we delete it — not flag it.
We use error monitoring (Sentry, hosted in the EU) so we hear about breakages before you have to tell us. Error reports can include technical details like your browser and the page that failed; they are not used for advertising or profiling. If you allow it when asked, we also use Google Analytics to count visits — it's opt-in, and declining changes nothing about how the site works. More in the cookie policy.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email the address above and it happens. If you're in the UK and unhappy with how we've handled something, you also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
